JIGSAW PUZZLES from our photographs

Introduction

It was suggested by one of our Photo List members that my Refinery photo would make for an interesting jigsaw puzzle so I (username Desoto) created an online puzzle that you can solve on your computer screen.

You don't have to sign up or sign in to play the puzzle, but if want to save a partially finished puzzle you have to register and sign-in to play, then it saves automatically as you go along.  When you sign out and come back in you go to Saved Games and you will see the game you were playing and how far you got.  As far as I can tell it is a safe site.

I made the puzzle with various number of pieces to start with, but you can increase or decrease the number by clicking "Play As" on the menu top right of screen.

Some of the basic moves I have figured out -

  • Move a piece by dragging the mouse.
  • Rotate a piece by putting the mouse over the piece and rotate the mouse wheel.
  • Alternate rotating: Click Left mouse button onto the piece and hold down. While holding down the left button, click the right button and the piece will rotate 90 degrees with each click.

But see HELP for more info by clicking the  the settings on the menu - lower left of screen.

Note:  If you are going to try other user puzzles on the site, be aware that the creator can choose to set the pieces in the proper orientation (no rotating required) so don't think your mouse is broken ;-)
